HighQuest
Book II - His Image
This unit of the
HighQuest series introduces a new skill set to compliment the
Appointment With God (AWG). In this unit you will learn how
to meditate on a verse along with commiting it to memory. We
call this "getting a grip on the Scriptures."
Mountain climbing requires the skill of attaching secure
points that serve as anchors in the rock face along the
route. Pitons are wedged in the cracks of the rock as
anchors. Carabineers are then attached to these anchors
giving the climber a secure point to attach his rope. Solid
points of attachment are critical for a safe and successful
climb.
Setting anchor points in Scripture is also necessary for a
successful journey with Christ. In HighQuest II, you will
learn how to get a grip on the Scripture through meditation
and memorization so you can firmly attach yourself to God's
Word.
The life issue in His Image explores the principle of
spiritual transformation. It looks at four important
qualities of our new nature in light of laying aside the old
qualities and putting on the new. This transformation into
the likeness of Christ is not a short hike but a life long
journey. It takes our attention and focus to continually put
on our new nature. In this unit of HighQuest we want to get a
clearer picture of the image
of Christ as we seek to
reflect him authentically.
