HighQuest Book III - His Story
page11_1
His Story is designed to equip men engage in the process of bringing men to Christ. The culture of our day is increasingly Biblical illiterate and subtlety postmodern. We can no longer make the same assumptions we did even a few years ago. People today often do not understand or believe in a Biblical worldview. The strategy of just sharing the "gospel" with people becomes unintelligible to an audience that does not understand God's story revealed in Scripture.

This unit teaches a seven step process of outreach. Each step is like establishing a base camp for a climb to the top of a majestic mountain. Multiple base camps are necessary for climbers to acclimate on their way to the top. Coming to a faith based relationship with Christ is like reaching the summit. Along the way, climbers need help from guides (sherpas) who can help carry the load, show the way and set up base camps.

The seven base camps of the outreach process are:
1.
Intercede
2.
Identify
3.
Involve
4.
Introduce
5.
Illustrate
6.
Investigate
7.
Invite

In this unit you will also learn how to share God's Story through an illustration called the "Life Line Illustration". This illustration will be used at base camp 5 in the process above. This illustration is not meant to present the "gospel" but to create thirst for the next step of investigation. God's story is told using 6 scenes that present a frame work for answering the core issues that every person is asking but probably not asking out loud. These issues are:
o
Who am I? My Identity
o
Why am I here? My Purpose
o
What is my future? My Destiny

The Life Line Illustration is told using the following six scenes:
o
Creation
o
Crisis
o
Confusion
o
Clarity
o
Connection
o
Completion

The final skill that is learned in HighQuest III is how to dialogue the gospel through investigating the answers to the following 4 critical issues:
o
Is the Bible reliable?
o
Will God send good people to hell?
o
Is Jesus the only way to God?
o
What do I have to do to have eternal life?
